But that night,
that was the night that changed his whole future. That was the night
Phineas met Bea. The stripper his friends hired as a joke, and he
just couldn't stop himself.
After that
night, he constantly thought of Bae, despite his upcoming nuptials.
But still, he didn't talk to her, didn't seek her out, it was a
one time mistake. Cold feet. Is what he told himself.
Unfortunately,
what he hadn't known was that his wife-to-be had met his
Bae on a shopping trip. So the night of his daughter's first
birthday, he was none too shocked to see his Bae standing in his
foyer.
Marie walked up
to him, hugging him awkwardly, her bulging stomach in the way.
"Hey,
honey." She kissed him lightly on the lips, her
innocent, trusting face beaming up at him.
"Hey, baby." He smiled like there was nothing going on, although a sharp pang of guilt stabbed his heart. But his mind stayed on Bae and the deep desire he felt for her.
"Phineas."
He snapped to, looking down at the worried face of his wife to be.
"Sorry,
baby, just got a lot on my mind." He pulled her close and
kissed her forehead. "Go mingle. I know you want."
She grinned, wobbling off. Instantly striking up a conversation with a group of her friends.
He casually greeted Katarania and Kara. Patting shoulder, shaking hands, with the occasional hug. Constantly watching, patiently waiting, trying not to hurry. Until finally he reached Bae.
His heartbeat increased, his palms began to sweat, and he wrapped his arms around her.
A smirk grew on her face and she looked up at him through her lashes.
"Meet me in
my den on the third floor." He whispered in her ear, pulling
back.
They reluctantly
separated with mundane pleasantries, going their own ways in
the group.
Phineas headed
up stairs, leaving the women down below. His trusting fiancée
grinning as she wiggled a few fingers at him in parting. Not
knowing or even suspecting his rendezvous.
Unaware of the
watchful eyes of Katarina, Marie's best friend. Tracking his
disappearance followed by Bae just minutes later.
Him and Bae, it
was just them now. They stood by the bar, having a casual drink,
talking.
She lightly ran
her fingers down his arm, fluttering her lashes, and he felt his
heart begin to race, his groin begin to tighten, losing track of the
words she was saying.
He attempted to
pay attention, tried in vain to resist and listen to what she was
saying.
With a low moan, he abandoned all efforts, knocking the glass out of her hand and slamming her up against the bar.
….........................
"There's a
restroom over there, go get cleaned up." He instructed,
grabbing a towel off the bar.
She made her way
into the restroom on shaky legs, her chest heaving with every
breath.
He picked up her
shirt and with a simple wave of his hand he fixed it brand as new,
holding it out to her as she made her way over to him.
She pushed his
hand aside, sliding her self up against him, slipping a hand behind
his neck and pulling his head down to meet her lips in a hot
passionate kiss.
He didn't move
to wrap his arms around her, but kissed her back, trying in vain to
ignore her body against his.
"Thanks."
She whispered, pulling back, a devilish grin on her face, slowly
slipping away from his body and taking the shirt and pulling it over
her head.
"The
party's almost over." He choked out, he tried in vain to stop
himself from wanting her."You need to get back down so they
don't miss you." But he failed miserably.
"You're
going to miss me." She whispered, trailing a hand across his
chest as she walked out, swinging her hips.
"I'll try damn well not to."
He fought it, he did, the way he felt for Bae, but anytime she called, he found himself helpless but to go to her every time she called.
Finally, one
night after a round of mind numbing sex, she told him.
"I'm
pregnant."
HIs heart
stopped. He felt the bile rose in his throat and knew he was going
to be sick.
"I want you
to leave Marie. I'm leaving town and I want you to come with me."
"I can't."
"If you
don't, I'll never let you near this child."
At those words, he felt a wave of ice wash over him, numbing his heart and chilling him to the bone.
He knew what he
had to do.
"Alright,
but not quite yet. I have some affairs to get in order. He lay on
his back, staring at the ceiling, arms behind his head. She rolled
over, laying her head on his chest, throwing one leg over his, her
hand curled into a ball just over his naval.
She grinned like
the cat that just caught the canary.
She wouldn't be smiling like that for much longer.
It took two weeks, two very short weeks to construct his man cave, that was the excuse he gave his wife. Some place just for him. Like the other basement was her studio.
So trusting, so loving...she believed him.
The day after it was finished, Marie went out with Calla Lumine and Ziron, taking them to the prodigies learning center like she'd gotten into habit of doing. Four hours a day, every day.
She just wanted
the best for their babies.
He invited Bae over and took her down.
He stayed for a while, talking and flirting, before he excused himself, climbing up the ladder into the out building. He slid open the hidden panel by the door and pulled down a keyboard, revealing the touch screen computer.
All it took was
a single swipe of his finger and the entire den locked down. No one
could get in or out except him.
He pushed the
computer back in, slid the panel closed, and walked out to go greet
his soon-to-be wife and children. An unholy smirk on his face.
Now, she wasn't
going anywhere.
The weeks
passed. Calla Lumine and Ziron grew. The wedding quickly approached.
Bae remained locked in the basement, her stomach growing and all was
well. For a time that is.
